Originally,
web pages were primarily for static content, meaning that no
matter how complex they might be even the smallest change required
the actual web site programming to be modified.
More sophisticated
and modern web pages can be data base driven, which means that
their content can be changed on line or off line by simple changes
to the underlying data base.
Today most
applications apply either the Microsoft .NET technology or the
open source technology based on Linux, PHP and MySQL. Both approaches
have important advantages and economic considerations.
One
typical type of data base application supports an on line data
table, in this instance, a person roster. This demonstration
utilizes the open source technology:

This is a similar version based on Microsoft technology,
illustrating similar but different features:

Data Based Graphic Display
Many applications, such as catalog pages, need to store and
recall for display digital format photos or drawings. Even when
these photos must change frequently, as for instance in a product
catalog, data base technology allows non technical personnel to
quickly, on line, make additions and updates:

Open Source An open source version.
Gallery
Microsoft A similar Microsoft version.
The important feature of all of these web sites is that non
technical people, having the correct security settings and
passwords, can make immediate changes on line, using
data entry web pages, with no programming.
Comprehensive Event Management
It is often desirable to manage events and processes in
an ongoing, time related manner with different people
in different roles contributing data and management at
different points in time. This is an example of an application
for working dog trials, where both entries for future
events and results for past events must be managed
and displayed in various formats

These demonstration sites are connected to live data
bases. You are welcome to experiment, but please
remember that these are available to the public and
refrain from entering inappropriate material.
Also, I am from time to time tinkering and experimenting,
